Burn the floor all night with Munni and Sheila

As you put on your killer Jimmy Choos and get ready with that slinky black dress for a night out, are you wondering what will really make you rush to the dance floor? With New Year approaching and the party season in full swing, youngsters talk about the chart toppers that will burn the dance floor this year with their sheer energy.
Although Munni Badnaam Hui and Sheila ki Jawaani remain a hot choice for many, party hoppers share their favourite numbers that will get them in the groove all night along with those vodka shots to add some extra fun.
Teena Jha, a college student says, “Although Munni’s classy beats are doing the rounds in all the hip and happening pubs and it’s a perfect party choice for this year, I personally love the title track of Anjaana Anjaani. Also, a Spanish track Bamboleo by Gypsy Kings gets me in the mood for some fun.”
For Shristi Mathur, a media professional, Punjabi tracks rule the list of haute favourites. “If you really want to have fun, they are your best bet. I think Amplifier is a naughty number and really gets me going. Besides that, Zor Ka Jhatka from the film Action Replayy and Dhanno from Housefull are some of the tracks you can dance on till you drop,” she adds.
Interestingly, besides desi tracks, the modified versions of international hip-hop numbers also are a rage. Shares Shikha, a die-hard party lover, “I like Can’t Handle Me by David Guetta. It’s an instant mood elevator and guaranteed crowd-puller, you can’t go wrong with this one. There is also Sexy Chick by the same artiste, which is the ultimate party anthem and has been mixed really well. You just can’t sit down on this one.”
While Lady Gaga and Justin Bieber’s tracks might rule the “must-have” list of party songs, other old party numbers like Right Round by Flo Rida with fast beats and the sensational Enrique Iglesias really make the night younger.
“Also there is no better way to musically kick-start your party than to rock it with popular tracks like Get the Party Started by Pink and Just Dance by Lady Gaga,” says Smitashish Sengupta, a music lover.
Agrees Aditya Rana, a college student and adds that there has never been a better song for nightcrawlers than I Gotta Feeling by Black Eyed Peas and You Shook Me All Night by AC/DC. “Although these songs are old, but AC/DC’s hard rock classic remains one of the most requested party tunes of all time. They manage to give everybody a high,” he adds.
DJ Mash, who plays at the F-Bar, says that party lovers in Delhi love electronic music mixed with Indian beats, and adds, “Dynamite by Tito Cruz and We Know Speak Americano by Yolanda Be Cool are hot favourites. Among Bollywood tracks, Gal Mithi Mithi Bol from Aisha is also very popular.”

I want to begin with a little story that was told to me by a leading executive at Aptech. He was exercising in a gym with a lot of younger people.

Shekhar Kapur’s Bandit Queen didn’t make the cut. Neither did Shaji Karun’s Piravi, which bagged 31 international awards.
