Candles cast a spell

Candle Magick is one of the oldest forms of magick performed by witches. The spelling of Magick as when it’s with a K stands for white magick, and when it ends with a C it’s dark/black magic.
It is important to understand the difference between the two. Candle Magick (and here I am talking about only White Magick) is largely done for various sorts of positive manifestations. Although it is usually performed by witches, one does not necessarily have to be a practitioner of witchcraft in order to practice it.
In fact, candle magick can be found in various forms of healing like angel therapy, tarot, colour therapy, etc. I often tell my clients and students about candle magick in my therapy and workshops and it is mainly to empower them, as candles are always associated with the fire element. They speak a magickal language — the words being expressed by the flickering and dancing of the candle flame, the billowing of the smoke, and the popping of the hot wax.
In India, most of us light a diya or a candle when we worship. We all consider this as sacred and believe the candle energy destroys any sort of negativity that may be around us. Candles chatter, and the direction of the flame denotes magical communication. Just sitting in a room lit only by a few candles creates this mystical, magickal experience as the flame of the candle dances in the darkened room.
Candle magick is also relevant to the Lunar Cycles, as when you wish to increase something in life, for example: if you wish to draw more money in your life, you would want to perform the magick in waxing moon (new moon to full moon period), whereas if you want something to reduce in your life, like lose weight, banish a disease, etc. then you would want to cast the magick spell in a waning moon (full moon to new moon period).

I want to begin with a little story that was told to me by a leading executive at Aptech. He was exercising in a gym with a lot of younger people.

Shekhar Kapur’s Bandit Queen didn’t make the cut. Neither did Shaji Karun’s Piravi, which bagged 31 international awards.
