Cappuccino with Sania
After having served aces on the tennis court, Sania Mirza is now set for another serve — she will dish out piping hot coffee.
The Mirzas, in partnership with a circle of friends, are opening a resto-lounge called Ristretto, which is a new concept, and translates to ‘a very short shot of espresso coffee’. The sprawling 10,000 square feet lounge is coming up at Road No 45, Jubilee Hills in Hyderabad, and a soft launch has been planned for the end of the month. Sania has been instrumental in the concept and design of the place while C Seshu Reddy, a close family friend of the Mirzas, is the managing director. He is also a film producer. “The lounge will probably be the biggest in India,” he declares.
Sania is understandably excited about the project. “We are trying to do something different and hopefully will make it a place Hyderabad has never seen before,” she says.
Speaking about how she got interested in the project, Sania says, “It’s been my sister Anam’s dream to have a coffee shop.”
At Ristretto, there is plenty of place for everyone — a party corner, conference room, pool tables, barbeque on the open terrace and a spot for hookah as well. The menu varies from Continental to Mexican.
With so much of travelling to do on the tennis circuit, it could be tough for Sania to be involved in it full time. “I will be actively involved whenever I find time to come to Hyderabad,” she says. Sania and her partners are also mulling franchises in Vijayawada and Vizag besides other metros in the country.
