Chulbul Pandey inspires Soha
The out-of-the-ordinary holds a special appeal for Soha Ali Khan, and that also often plays a key role in her choosing a role. The actress is now all set to play a rustic cop, Inspector Shantipriya, in her upcoming film Joe Bhi Carva Lho.
“I am excited about my role because for the first time I will be doing action along with comedy. My character is like Salman Khan’s Chulbul Pandey and I have taken inspiration from him,” said Soha.
To prepare for her role, Soha is taking some martial art lessons. “I have enrolled myself for Kung Fu classes,” said Soha, who was seen in the capital at the launch of Glint designer faucets from KS Assets Bath Group.
“It’s not a tough task because I am a fitness freak. I do yoga and hit the gym regularly. But self-defence is something which is completely new to me,” she added.
The actress is also a part of Tigmanshu Dhulia’s Sahib, Biwi aur Gangster Returns, and Deepa Mehta’s Midnight’s Children. “Delhi is home to me. My mother and my sister live here. I like the food, the architecture, culture, history and politics of Delhi. There are loads of layers to the city,” she said.
Asked about her bond with Kareena, Soha said, “I have a lot of respect for Kareena. She is so focussed on her work and her relationship with my brother.” Soha has no plans of getting married anytime soon. She said, “Kunal and I are happy at the point where we are in our relationship. Apart from my mother and media, there is no pressure of getting married.”
