Connect your computers at home
With today’s time, it is almost customary for a household to have multiple PCs. Over time, the work you do on each machine, or the work done by your loved ones that share the house with you, tends to get segregated. And so does your data.
You might find yourself thinking hard as to exactly where your presentation for next week is, or where you downloaded that movie you were meaning to watch.
Data segregation and duplication is one of the most silent problems faced by today’s average computer user, and unfortunately, Microsoft’s attempts to curb it with Windows 7 and, consequently, with Windows 8 have largely gone unnoticed, especially in India.
Enter Homegroup, the Network and Sharing Center feature you already have in your OS. Going into the network settings, setting up a Homegroup around your home network (this might be your common WiFi or LAN link) is a cinch. Just set up what all you wish to share over your Homegroup, and connect to the network with a password that Windows generates on its own. The rest is managed magically.
You can access the files on Homegroup from any of the devices that have been setup.
