Connecting with the divine

Connecting with God has different meaning for different people. For some it means going to a temple and praying, for some it means helping the needy, and for some it means sitting in a secluded corner of the house in an effort to make that ultimate connection.

Those who actually experienced this connect described it as realising your own higher self. When you are into your own self, you are connected to your higher koshas (Vijnanamaya, Anandamaya) and experience ananda, the true experience of godliness.
Ancient vastu experts were so well versed in this that they created such building structures that the moment you enter them, a particular effect is generated in your subconscious mind. This effect leads to manifestation of your desires. These structures were known as mandirs.
In fact when you visit an old temple or old religious building, you naturally get connected with your higher koshas wherein you get the solutions for your problems. You can call it God’s blessings. Practically, it is space chemistry that is altering the thought patterns in your deeper subconscious mind.
A similar effect can also be created in your house so that you get connected with your higher self and the God. Documented research on vastu shastra has proved that a temple built in your home directly affects your subconscious mind and the results of your efforts.
Location of the entrance, puja room, colours, lights, paintings, sculptures and interior objects placed in your home play a vital role in your connectivity with God. If these are not placed as per the guidelines, you do not feel this connection despite making sincere efforts.
Many people, who could not establish a connect with the higher being despite meditating for hours, fail because of imbalance in the northeast vastu zone in their homes. As per the directions of Alchemy in Vastu Shastra, northeast is the vastu zone of mind. It governs your connectivity with anandamaya kosha. North-northeast and East-northeast govern your connectivity with vigyanmaya and manomaya koshas. If there is an imbalance with shades of pink or red on the walls, toilet, store or kitchen in these portions in your home, you can never feel connected with your higher self. And this results in lack of happiness and fulfilment.
Similarly, if your puja room is placed in the vastu zone of expenditure and wastage, i.e., south-southwest, all your efforts to get connected will go waste. On the other hand, when you place your puja room in northeast vastu zone, you feel connected. Just placing a symbol of your ishta devata will also make you feel connected with him.
Same effect is created when you meditate while sitting in north-northeast vastu zone. It connects you directly with problem solving kosha — vijnanamaya kosha — and you become a solution provider.
We all can connect with the God, all we need is awareness of the space around us and how the energies in our home are shaping up our subconscious mind.

I want to begin with a little story that was told to me by a leading executive at Aptech. He was exercising in a gym with a lot of younger people.

Shekhar Kapur’s Bandit Queen didn’t make the cut. Neither did Shaji Karun’s Piravi, which bagged 31 international awards.
