Countdown to TDKR
It’s finally here. The Dark Knight Rises, arguably the most eagerly awaited film of 2012, will hit theatres on July 20. As we count down the days and hours to go, here’s some interesting trivia about the epic finale of Christopher Nolan’s Batman series.
1 The Batsuit that Christian Bale wears in TDKR is made up of 110 separate pieces and the total weight of the costume, 14 kilos. Fifty different capes were created in different lengths, shapes and sizes for different scenes. The Catsuit that Anne Hathaway wears is actually a two-piece costume, designed to look a one-piece suit. Seven pairs of boots were made for different functions like riding, running, fighting etc.
2 After the destruction of the Tumbler in The Dark Knight, this time we see it in the original camouflage colours, used by villain Bane in the movie. This Batmobile is described as a cross between a Lambhorgini and a tank.
3 Desert sequences in TDKR were shot in Mehrangarh Fort in Jodhphur, Rajasthan last year. Shot over two days, the scene is however, set to be only a few seconds in the two-hour 45-minute film.
