on recent innovations:
Hair care products with an infusion of natural oils are the rage, be it hair colour, shampoos, conditioners or serums. The benefit is that hair can be styled better in a natural way and it also adds and strength.

The right ways to use a…
Hair texturiser — It has to be evenly spread from root to tip.
Volumiser — After shampooing and conditioning hair, it can be used as a styling product and applied to the hair before blow-drying or straightening.

Hairstyle trends: For women
Short hair — Styles involve stronger outlines and shapes to bring about a transformation in the structure of the face.
Medium hair — There are a lot of textured movement and the latest style infused is that of round shapes on top to give an effect of a halo.
Long hair — It is mostly layered appropriately to create the image of more volume, free flowing bounces and curls.

The current trends are short hair that is pulled or gelled to the back or the Side. Spikes and hair that is texturised to feel and look sleek and smooth.

Must-have styling tools:
It is essential to have a straightening iron, a good hair brush that suits your hair texture and most importantly, a good hair dryer: one that does not damage the hair follicles, an add-on for those with curly hair and a diffuser is essential to keep your hair manageable and frizz-free.

International hairstyle trends that will catch on in India:
Braids in variations like Conroe’s, full head plaits, fish bones and so on.
Bolder hair colours like blue, purple, silver and red.

On choosing the right hairstyle:
It is absolutely necessary and a complete must. Our society is not inhibited by internal knowledge alone. Your personality is all about your attitude and how you carry it off. The self confidence and feel-good factor obviously comes about when you do feel good and are happy with what you see in the mirror!

Words of advice:
n One should follow the golden rule ‘Never say never!’ No matter what people say, you never know what a good haircut does to you until you try it. Be blunt about your style without any inhibitions.
