Crystals light up Christmas in malls
If Abu Dhabi has broken the record this year with the world’s most expensive tree being installed at the Emirates Palace hotel, closer home, the capital is all geared up for an even more stunning display of festivities.
At the Select Citywalk mall in Saket, the Christmas tree has become the talk of the town. The tree which is garnering all the attention is 35 feet high and is made up of over 1,00,000 crystals. It has been enhanced with multiple candy sticks, informs Harpreet Suri, manager, corporate communications.
She says, “We wanted to emulate a White European Christmas. Typically the colours of Christmas are red, green and gold. The shift from a typical Christmas was strategic. The Christmas tree this year is done up with crystals.”
For Lap Garden, the colour of festivity is pink. Lap has invited designers Sabina Singh, Shantanu and Nikhil and Siddartha Tytler to decorate their Christmas tree in the hues of pink and honeysuckle to fight against breast cancer. Taking a step towards this cause five per cent of proceeds generated on Christmas eve and other spot activities would be donated to the Women’s Cancer Initiative of the Tata Memorial Hospital.
Restaurateur A.D. Singh says, “We think people will enjoy themselves even more this Christmas knowing they are helping support this noble cause.”
In another spectacular show of grandeur Swarovski elements has come up with their first sparkling Christmas tree at the DLF Emporio, the hautest property in town. Embellished with over 4,00,000 Swarovski crystals, this structure is bound to win hearts.
