CWG finale set to be a cultural feast
After a spectacular opening ceremony at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, all eyes are now set for another great show on 14th when the 19th CWG will come to an end. The tickets are already sold out and people are eagerly waiting to find out what's in store for the closing ceremony. With approximately 7,000 performers gearing up for the much awaited event, it is expected to be an apt finale to the sporting extravaganza.
The closing ceremony will lack hi-blitz Bollywood celebrity performances, but it will highlight the vibrant Indian culture with colourful dance and singing acts. Viraf Sarkari, director of Wizcraft entertainment, who is organising and managing the event reveals, “There are 2,010 school children performing at various dancing and singing events. Like the opening ceremony, it will be a highly anticipated event and all eyes will be set on the winning athletes and countries. It will be like a big party to sum up the entire spectrum, Indian style. The aerostat bag will be put up and there will be a spectacular light and laser show.”
Many people who missed going to the stadium for the opening fiesta are excited to be a part of the closing ceremony and have already booked their tickets. Anant Verma, an associate vice-president says, “I couldn’t go to the opening ceremony because of work, but for the closing ceremony I have already booked four tickets. There are tickets starting from `1,000 to `25,000 for this event. I have bought four `4,000 tickets for my family and I am hoping to see some great performances there.”
