Dadisa turns TV show host

Surekha Sikri is an unforgettable face when it comes to the small screen. Her role of dadisa in the TRP magnet Balika Vadhu has been widely appreciated. Apart from playing strong characters on the small screen, Sikri has also been seen in critically acclaimed films like Zubeidaa, Raincoat and Sarfarosh. She’ll now have her first stint as a reality show host in Maa Exchange, partly inspired by the English TV show Wife Swap.

“I was quite surprised when they came to me with the offer to host a show, as I have never hosted one before. I am looking forward to it. My role is to express my take on the situation that the contestants are in. I am thrilled,” says Surekha.
The actress admits that she was tempted to participate in it for a while, but later changed her mind and took on the mantle of the host.
Explaining her long absence from Bollywood, she says, “I didn’t have any time to shoot for films when I started working on Balika Vadhu. Moreover, films have many outdoor shoots which require a lot of time. And it’s not very convenient to juggle both schedules. So I stuck to my TV commitments.”
