Delhi girl to work with Farhan soon

Some dreams do come true. And when stars plan to make it perfect for you, the dream turns rosier. That’s what happened to 22-year-old Tanya Gupta, who recently got a job offer from actor-producer-director Farhan Akhtar.
A reality show on UTV stars gave her the opportunity to meet the star himself and the opportunity to work with Farhan’s production house came calling.
“When I saw the posters outside my locality, I just ignored them. And then one day I thought, if I’m such a huge fan, I must give it a try. And there I was, with him after a few days,” she laughs.
Working with Farhan was something Tanya always wanted. “Two years back, I was in Mumbai when someone casually told me about his studio on a street we were passing by. I was told that Farhan is inside the studio, and I waited there for 6 hours for him to show up. But at last I was told he had left the studio already,” she recalls.
When she got selected for the show, she says she only had 4 hours before meeting him. Little did this journalism student know that a reality show would land her a job experience with one of her favourite stars.
“I was shocked when he offered me a chance to work. He took my details and asked me to join his own production house as an intern initially. I am waiting for a call from them. He told me I could start my work with the basics initially. Since I’ve already worked before, I can’t wait for the experience to begin,” she says.
The Delhi girl was charmed by Farhan’s charisma and wit, she says, “We often feel that stars are just flashy, but those beliefs vanished when I met Farhan. We tend to feel that these stars make it big only because of contacts or looks. But after meeting Farhan my views changed. He is not just intelligent but also has a great sense of humour,” she concludes.

I want to begin with a little story that was told to me by a leading executive at Aptech. He was exercising in a gym with a lot of younger people.

Shekhar Kapur’s Bandit Queen didn’t make the cut. Neither did Shaji Karun’s Piravi, which bagged 31 international awards.
