After the success of Ladies v/s Ricky Bahl supermodel and actress Dipannita Sharma might have taken it easy for a while but the actress is gearing up to come back with a bang. And it’s not just her modeling assignments and films but she is even considering a stint on TV.
“TV is changing big time. The quality of content and budgets has increased manifold. Though it’s too early to share the details, I am in talks for a lifestyle show that would suit my personality,” shares Dipannita.
The model will be seen in Bejoy Nambiar’s next. “The film will go on floors next month. Bejoy is a great director and a good friend too. He will make you comfortable in your skin and get the best out of you. We have been having script reading sessions lately. The film belongs to a genre I have not touched before and I am excited to start shooting. These are very exciting times for Bollywood since script-based films are making a mark. I am also in the process of reading two other interesting scripts,” says Dipannita.
Though TV and film scripts are keeping Dipannita busy these days, she insists that her first love will always be modelling. With many fashion shows lined up in the coming months, Dipannita shares that she will be walking the ramp for many of her fashion designer friends.
While Dipannita has ruled the ramp for very long, she doesn’t seem very happy with Bollywood celebrities becoming showstoppers for various shows. “Though B-town celebs as showstoppers has been the trend for a while now, I still believe this is just a passing phase. The foremost responsibility of a model walking the ramp is to make sure that their personality does not take away the attention from the outfit. It’s the designer’s responsibility also to ensure that the collection remains the actual highlight of the show, not the celebrity walking in it,” asserts Dipannita, who loves reading in her spare time and hopes to write a book on the modeling world and clichés surrounding it.

I want to begin with a little story that was told to me by a leading executive at Aptech. He was exercising in a gym with a lot of younger people.

Shekhar Kapur’s Bandit Queen didn’t make the cut. Neither did Shaji Karun’s Piravi, which bagged 31 international awards.
