Do more with your drive
Seagate’s new line of innovative external hard drives, FreeAgent GoFlex has brought in a major shift to traditional USB 2.0 storage in terms of flexibility that will help people to easily store, access, enjoy and share their digital content. The external hard drive has been divided into two parts, the storage and the cable adapter. The storage is just the hard drive itself with no circuit board. The second part is a small adapter that can be tightly snapped-in onto the storage end to make it a complete external storage solution. The design makes connections upgradeable and can extend the life and usability of an external hard drive without changing the enclosure it’s in. It also provides interoperability between operating systems. However, external connections are only available from Seagate.
With capacities ranging from 320GB to 2TB, these ultra-portable desktop drives can be easily upgraded to USB 3.0, eSATA or FireWire 800 connections. You can also pair these drives with a GoFlex TV HD media player or the GoFlex Net media sharing device to enhance the experience of the drive’s content. However, in addition to the drive, you need to start adding on accessories if you want to take full advantage of the GoFlex system, which comes at a price. Overall, the GoFlex storage system works very well for those who like to do more.
