Dolly Bindra ‘fights’ her way to TV glory

You can’t love her, and you certainly can’t ignore her either. We are talking about Dolly Bindra, who apparently threatened to ruin Ali and Sara’s wedding on Wednesday. A relatively new entrant on the show, she’s already become the most controversial contestant ever, and has also been compared to Jade Goody for her over-the-top behaviour.

Despite being boycotted by participants on the show, she remained unperturbed. What is it about her that makes her the most hated celeb in recent times?
“Oh, that Dolly woman is so crass,” opines Nikhar Berry, an advocate. “Has she been paid to create so much chaos in the house, I wonder? Saw her once, and didn’t feel like watching the show again,” adds Nikhar.
That’s a reality show for you. Participants come prepared and know just how and when to twist the TRPs. Says Vidisha Singh, a professional, “Who was Dolly Bindra before she came on the show? An infamous face, but today everybody knows her. I found her egotistical at first, but over time, she has another side to her, which is reserved and quiet. I think she has some kind of fear in her heart and that’s why she tries to overpower everyone by shouting and creating a scene.”
However, she’s a true TRP enhancer, before she made an entry, the show was quite dull, she has taken the show to a different level.
“She’s mean and arrogant and insults everybody. Besides her, Veena Malik is another one who has got lots of moves up her sleeve. Let’s see how far this goes,” says Banhi Mukherjee, an HR professional.
She’s a total fake, comments Ankita Kanojia, who works in the aviation industry. “How can she not stand other people’s raised voices, when she can’t control hers? All that ever comes out of her mouth are abusive words. She’s a fake and others in the show can see through her. She can’t be compared to Rakhi Sawant or Kashmera Shah, don’t know how anybody can be so loud and shameless,” she adds.

I want to begin with a little story that was told to me by a leading executive at Aptech. He was exercising in a gym with a lot of younger people.

Shekhar Kapur’s Bandit Queen didn’t make the cut. Neither did Shaji Karun’s Piravi, which bagged 31 international awards.
