Dota 2 First Blood DLC updated
Valve made a smart move by making Dota 2. Already, the game is super popular on Steam, and is perhaps the most played game on the platform. Valve has managed to successfully implement the free-to-play model in the MOBA, and needless to say, has a rock solid game built on top of a potential well of cash. Keeping in mind with that tradition, they’ve released the first DLC for the game.
Titled First Blood, the update brings a host of new features to the Dota 2 framework: “LAN support, a new Captain’s Draft mode, a refined Armoury browsing experience and a GLaDOS announcer voice”, as they announced. The Captain’s Draft plans to refine the drafting experience, making the captains of each team choose heroes, and then go about a process of voting and revoting to figure out the final champions. The new Armory lets you now filter items by things like size, quality and stuff.
Apart from that, the store will now contain new community-generated items and content, as well as a Portal Pack, with Aperture Science themed content for use in the game, with Science-themed HUD skin, some “Wardcores” (wards made to look like Aperture Science cores) and the aforementioned GLaDOS announcer voice.
The GLaDOS announcer voice really sounds promising, and shows that Valve has exactly what it takes to give people a reason to get this stuff. Just Imagine GLaDOS commenting on your Dota moves!
