Easy money, easy fame
A host of television stars are flocking to reality shows like never before. Moving away from the monotony of the melodrama in the soaps, TV stars are making their presence felt in the reality shows and not all of them are has-beens.
Ronit Roy, who is the chef-cum-host on a new cookery show, attributes his focus from soaps to reality as purely balancing it out with two genres. “I am doing this show since I can be myself. This is a good change,” he says.
These shows are often looked upon as a sure-shot recipe for early fame and success. Archana Puran Singh, who has been a judge on a reality show, attributes this to quicker money and success. “There are people in the industry who have that wannabe factor and are desperate for a short cut path to success,” says Archana.
For Smriti Irani, reality shows are not her cup of tea. “Reality shows are ways to explore the controversial side of human beings. I am here to explore my craft,” says Smriti.
