Eka’s musical X-mas treat
As the nippy air is all set to usher in Christmas festivities, a Delhi based band, Eka has come up with a special gift this season. They have brought 10 artistes from around the country including Rabbi Shergill, Anamika, Gautam Ghosh, Valentine Shipley, Robin Mathews and Bonny Andrews together to sing Christmas-Feel it in the air, composed by them. The CD comes packed inside a X-mas greeting card.
“Our track, Christmas-Feel it in the air was conceived last year. It is a positive and energetic track that encapsulates the festive spirit,” explain the band members of Eka. The band consists of Benjamine Pinto (Benny) on keyboard, Hitesh Madan (Rikki) on guitar and vocals and Lokesh Madan on bass and vocals.
“Christmas to me is about human warmth and a feeling of community. This song exudes it aplenty. Eka got a fine assortment of musicians to sing their song,” says Rabbi Shergill.
Talking about the greeting card, they say, “We had plans to engage painters as well but that would have taken longer time frame. So we decided to work on the designing the card ourselves,” add Eka members.
The band plans to tie-up with retail stores to sell their greeting card and CD, so that 50 per cent of their sale can be donated to the various NGOs in the city.
“Keeping in mind the spirit of caring and sharing, we plan to donate a part of the sale to few NGOs. We are still finalising the names,” they add.
