Ekta launches first mobile ‘K’ serial

The queen of the television soaps Ekta Kapoor is going into thriller mode and jumping into mobile television with two new shows made exclusively for that one gadget we can’t do without — the cellphone. Under her banner Balaji Telefilms, she plans on catering to the young on-the-go audience with the series.

“Considering the busy lifestyles of Indian consumers, we decided to offer entertainment on the move. With these ‘audiosodes’, mobile entertainment will no longer be restricted to gaming and music,” said Puneet Kinra, the group CEO of Balaji Telefilms.
Crime In Fashion World and The Trap are the detective series that Ekta has launched under the title Kriminal Kaun. Ekta, who considers the letter “K” to be auspicious, has stuck with it for her digital venture. For now, the “audisodes” are on offer only with one telecom operator. The shows are available both in Hindi and Tamil.
“This is the first time that an interactive daily detective series has been introduced to cellular phone users in India, and we look forward to creating more such creative content,” said Kinra. Kriminal Kaun is introduced by New Media and it marks the digital entity of Balaji Telefilms.
Apart from Crime In Fashion World and The Trap, a series called Wedding Night Murder will also be available to users.
