Emraan Hashmi might have had many steamy scenes with some of the hottest babes in Bollywood but he says that the thing he really wanted to do was sit behind a desk and read out news. His latest film Rush, in which he plays a crime reporter, has fulfilled his this fantasy too.

The starcast of Rush seemed to be all excited about the film when they were in the capital to promote the film, that they say has all the masala for audience.
“Though I loved watching crime thrillers as a kid, I also interacted with real crime reporters to understand their work better. I even went to a newsroom in Delhi to see how journalists work under pressure and stick to deadlines,” says Emraan Hashmi during an interview at Crowne Plaza Hotel, Okhla.
Emraan adds that the film is a take on a crime reporter’s life who struggles between journalism and personal ethics. “Since I have played a reporter in the film, now I know how to answer the questions in an interview without inviting trouble,” quips Emraan. He insists that his role is very exciting and strong. And this is what he has always aimed for while signing a film.
Neha Dhupia, who sizzled in a black jacket paired with shorts, says that she enjoyed playing a tough corporate woman who means business. Neha got her hair cut short for this role, and she agrees that these days it is necessary for actresses to experiment with their looks. “Audience tend to get bored with the same look after a while. We should be experimentative. Also, I think this is the best way to look glamorous without taking off the clothes,” laughs Neha.
While Neha is an attractive hassle in Emraan’s life in the film, it is Sagarika Ghatge who plays his love interest and strength. “She is not just his strength but the two are also in a live-in relation,” says Sagarika. “Though it’s not a taboo anymore to be in a live-in relationship but I don’t believe in sharing the space before trying the knot,” she says.

I want to begin with a little story that was told to me by a leading executive at Aptech. He was exercising in a gym with a lot of younger people.

Shekhar Kapur’s Bandit Queen didn’t make the cut. Neither did Shaji Karun’s Piravi, which bagged 31 international awards.
