Ex encounters

Bollywood break-ups don’t get any messier than the Deepika Padukone-Ranbir Kapoor split. Yet here they are, pairing up once again for the film Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani

. They’re not the only ones either, as Priyanka Chopra and Shahid Kapoor have been promoting their upcoming flick Teri Meri Kahaani together. You may never want to lay eyes on your ex again, but in the real world, guys say, you’ve got to play it cool.
Model Arry Dabas points out, “Sometimes you can’t avoid meeting an ex in a professional or even social set up. You just have to be prepared for it.” Why give up a job or stop partying just to avoid somebody. Instead, Arry suggests, “Just treat her like you treat everybody else. Be cordial and most likely, she’ll return the favour.”
Bury the hatchet, agrees actor Prajwal Devaraj. Just remember, keep the banter light and leave your personal life out of it. Especially your current love life. “For an actor, it’s easy because you become someone else altogether when the camera starts rolling. There is no place for your personal life at work,” says Prajwal, adding, “What guys need to do is be practical and put the past behind them.”
However, actor Tilak makes an important point, stating, “If the relationship ended by a mutual decision, there is no reason why you can’t be friends. But, if one person still has feelings for the other, then it becomes a problem. Under those circumstances it would be difficult to work together, but otherwise, I think it’s become the norm for exes to get along in today’s world.”
And for those harbouring hopes of getting back together, Tilak says, “Don’t forget, there’s a reason why it didn’t work out in the first place!” Getting too close could jeopardise your new working relationship, so lads, keep your distance and good luck!

I want to begin with a little story that was told to me by a leading executive at Aptech. He was exercising in a gym with a lot of younger people.

Shekhar Kapur’s Bandit Queen didn’t make the cut. Neither did Shaji Karun’s Piravi, which bagged 31 international awards.
