Feast after fast

I grew up in Delhi, even though now I am settled in Mumbai, the flavours of Delhi still linger in my mind and heart. I am married to Kabir Khan, who is a certified foodie, so whenever we come to Delhi, we have to go to the Jama Masjid area that is buzzing with people and treats, specially during Eid.
My ancestors used to live in the Nai Sarak area, so I have an old connection with that place and of course, the food. What do I love to eat? To tell you the truth, actually everything. I can start with Barra kebab (my husband has set a record of eating 12 in one go) and then go on to seekhs, sheermal and chicken ishtew, and yes, how can I forget the Badami gosht, it is one of my all time favourites. But let me also not forget to mention the raan and I like to well, wrap it up with the delicious phirnis you get in the streets of Jama Masjid.
As I love history I like to walk down the streets of the Jama Masjid and to be honest another place that I can’t get enough of is Karim’s. In fact, I highly recommend it to all my friends, to have at least one meal here. It is authentic, full of gravy and spices, but come on, we all have only one life to live, so why not live it king-size?
I have a confession to make, when I was in Delhi, I never appreciated the city that was dripping with history with interesting tidbits hidden in every nook and corner, but now when I am no longer a resident, I come specially to see the Fatehpur Sikri, Red Fort and if I get an opportunity, I go to the Paranthe Wali Gali in Chandni Chowk.
And if you haven’t tried Kulle ki chaat, then you’ve missed out on something great. It’s the eighth wonder in the world.
