Feeling dizzy? Keep your body hydrated
To feel dizzy is an awful experience. Your head swims, you are wobbly and woozy, and you clutch for support. The eyes, inner-ear apparatus, sensory receptors of the joints, muscles of the neck, trunk and the legs must be in
order and must work in a perfect harmony! If any of these organs or the brain suffers a knock or a segment of the facilitator nerve pathways get fused, your world can literally go for a spin! Here are some practical suggestions that may prove to be useful.
n Take it easy: If you experience a sudden spell of dizziness overcoming you, just excuse
yourself and lie down. Close your eyes and breathe easy.
n Keep your ears clean: Mild dizziness can also result from the accumulation of wax in the ears and blocked Eustachian tubes. Keep your ears clean.
n Keep your neck in good health: Positional dizziness is commonly related to a poorly maintained neck. Strong neck muscles and a good postural hygiene can prevent this.
n Free yourself of fatigue. You may experience spells of dizziness if you over-exert to the point of exhaustion. Work in a planned way and within your limits.
n Don’t let the sugar go down: Hypoglycaemia or a low sugar level can lead to a splitting headache and also make you
dizzy.
n Keep a good hydration. That’s because a fluid-depleted body can fall prey to bouts of dizziness. Therefore, be careful and drink lot of fluids to keep the body adequately hydrated.
