Fight the frizz
The curse of frizzy hair is dawning upon us. As summers approach, the welcome sun brings with it some unwelcome changes; itchy and dry scalp, hair that tends to get frizzy and limp, due to excessive secretions by the sebaceous glands.
The pores on the scalp are clogged thus leading to dandruff, patchy skin and in extreme cases, hair-fall. Hair expert, Ajay Gupta, Kerastase, recommends simple rituals that can be followed even at home to ensure a healthy scalp leading to vibrant, soft and radiant hair for both men and women.
Lustrous locks
You’re not alone, so don’t fret. Everyone has bad hair days. Even the Duchess of Cambridge, queen of the sleek blow dry, was reported to have succumbed to an attack of the frizz reecently while spotted on the Diamond Jubilee tour. Whether it’s the humidity in the air, that’s taking a toll on those lovely locks; making you wince in discomfort, from a sleek haired beauty to troll-doll, then read on. It can sometimes dictate your entire life, leaving you thinking about it all the time, even while planning a beach holiday that can turn your hair tortuously, pinging straight from soft curls to twists and whirls ending up in a monstrous afro.
Hair and now
Try deep infusion of four precious oils; camelia, pracaxi, argan and maize. Follow it with a wash and deep conditioning with an oil masque. Apply this hair oil pack weekly, and see how this formula of precious oils, gives your hair an outstanding nourishing treatment. Its creamy texture and sensual fragrance leaves the hair soft and subtly perfumed. Immediately after the wash, the hair should again be coated with a pea sized amount of hair serum, that helps lock in moisture, thus protecting the hair from the rays of the sun. Indulge in a hair spa every two weeks.
Mane massage
Before you begin the ritual, pre-cleanse your hair. Massage your hair with oils. Apply a cleansing oil shampoo, emulsify and rinse well. Follow it with an oil masque to bring a glossy shine to the hair.
Care for colour
There are chances of colour fading on colour treated hair, that can also lead to loss of radiance. Colour protection shampoos and conditioners should be used. If you don't have time during the day, try hair masks or overnight hair treatment creams that work as antidotes for dry sensitised colour treated
hair.
