You just got dumped? Those countless weeks, months, or even years that you had cherished with someone have now become a thing of the past? The very moment your special one decides to live without you, s/he suddenly leaves a void in your life. While you may not be comfortable sharing your state of mind with your friends, the virtual world offers you a platform to vent your emotions.

Breakuphelpline.com is a website designed by youngsters — Ankit, 25, marketing executive, Nainy, a filmmaker and Anshuman and Sandeep, two psychologists to keep you away from revenge seeking and self-loathing tendencies and instead help you to step out of your cocoon.
“Registration on our website promises dumped lovers a reply within 24 hours, and entitles them to 30 days of free emotional assistance via email. Intensive counselling sessions over email, Skype, phone or personal meetings are available at Rs 2,500,” says Ankit, one of the “side-effect managers”, who won’t reveal his last name.
“I have been in touch with Breakuphelpline for the past two weeks and I feel relieved that there is someone I can talk to without feeling embarrassed,” says Ching Lee, one of the clients of the helpline. Raghav Gupta, 23, another customer is thankful to the team for supporting him during his terrible times. “Indians are fickle-minded when it comes to the idea of seeing a psychologist. So, we had to give our therapy sessions a new form that sounded more comfortable to our customers,” says Ankit, whose clientele is mostly Indian, aged 18 to 25, and may even include divorcees.

I want to begin with a little story that was told to me by a leading executive at Aptech. He was exercising in a gym with a lot of younger people.

Shekhar Kapur’s Bandit Queen didn’t make the cut. Neither did Shaji Karun’s Piravi, which bagged 31 international awards.
