It’s an accessory that is predominantly associated with women. But a man’s purse is something that is spoken about quite often in fashion circles. With many celebs flaunting their ‘bag-side’, be it a sling bag or a gym bag. A man’s purse has become an essential in the male wardrobe.
“It is convenient and easy to carry things,” says model Akshay Satish. “It particularly comes in handy if you are hitting the gym and going straight to work,” he adds. Whether carrying your notebook, i-Pad, headphones, mobile or just some random junk carrying a statement piece is something that everyone looks forward too. “It is definitely a statement piece, because so far only the elite class seems to flaunt it. It’s more of an accessory than a utility,” says designer Swapnil Shinde. Everyone from the fashion fraternity are giving it a thumbs up. “If you are confident and can carry it well, it’s absolutely fine but an uncle in a lungi cannot carry a man purse,” says model Acquin Paes. Others say it is definitely in, “It is a new trend and if women can carry wallets, then men can carry purses,” says choreographer Gautam Pavate.
