Flirts can be ignored, adultery unacceptable

It seems old habits die hard. English footballer, David Beckham, was yet again connected with a woman who isn’t his wife, in what was a third such instance for Becks this year. A Bosnian showgirl has charged Beckham for having a “reputation for adultery” and went to divulge to a glossy, details about their romp. And back home too, on

a chat-show, actresses Sonam Kapoor and Deepika Padukone charged chocolate-boy Ranbir Kapoor for having too many flings at a time. Notoriously for their Casanova-like qualities these men surely have had their and some other’s share of flings too, but these not-so-faithful men still happen to be the pin-ups for the younger generation.
Women who are suckers for loyalty find nothing abnormal with a Cristiano Ronaldo, or a Beckham’s legion of starry-eyed gal fans. Kanchan Sharma, DU student, avers, “They’re good looking no doubt and their on and off-field actions makes news these days.”
Although these poster boys might get away with it, youngsters aren’t okay with multiple partners or many casual flings at one time, says Lakshita Kumar, DU pass-out, and adds, “I don’t know about others, but I sure am not okay with infidelity. It might not be cool, but I certainly don’t want to go for a guy who has many girlfriends, in that case while he will be my priority I’ll only be an option for him.”
But not everyone is willing to give a thumbs down to multiple flings. Sidhhi Das, a copywriter, avers, “Instead of looking for a perfect person with many qualities, both girls and boys are open to dating multiple options as long as there is something good about the other person. And Becks and Ranbir are seriously good looking, so what if they aren’t one-woman-men?”
Aastha Panjwani, advertising professional, opines, “Promiscuity is a different thing, but being seen with multiple partners keeps them in the papers and that is good for their visibility.”

I want to begin with a little story that was told to me by a leading executive at Aptech. He was exercising in a gym with a lot of younger people.

Shekhar Kapur’s Bandit Queen didn’t make the cut. Neither did Shaji Karun’s Piravi, which bagged 31 international awards.
