Free Souls love bike adventures
“An adventure’s safety does not depend on the brand of the bike but instead lies in the spirit of the biker.” This idea got together some bike lovers who formed the Free Souls Riders bike group in November 2011. The group is now gearing up to participate in the Goa Bike Week next month.
“Most of the bike clubs in Delhi were about a particular bike model. So someone with a Karizma bike or a Pulsar had no place to go. We decided to provide an open platform to bike lovers so that anyone with any bike model could take part in bike rides,” says Harish Nayak, founder member of the group.
He says that opportunities for bike lovers are increasing in the country. “People are beginning to understand that bike riding is not just about stunts or life-risking rides,” says Kam Kora, another founder member of the group.
The group, which now has about 817 members, aims to show the world that even though there are risks involved, anything if done the right way can be fun and satisfying at the same time.
Free Souls Riders represent many talents coming together to chase a common passion — biking, says Hitesh Mohan, another member of the group.
“It’s all about brotherhood for us,” he says. The group often ties up with NGOs for various camps and even go for adventurous off-road riding, but with safety as the top priority.
