Girls have fun sexting friends

If boys are flirtatious, girls know how to have their share of fun too. Sexting, or the act of sending sexually explicit messages via mobile phones is popular with both the sexes. And a new survey in Daily Mail reports that women are far more likely than men to engage in ‘sexting’. City girls couldn’t agree more and confess that sexting is their way of keeping the romance alive while they’re away from their partner.

Says Neha Singh, a college student, “Sexting is an easy and bold way to express your desires. While sexting, you don’t have to face the person and it’s surely a fun way to get mushy with your loved one. I know of friends who like to save such messages in their drafts to send it to their partners on special occasions. It’s like an addiction, which is growing among girls. But I also feel that there should be a limit to it. I usually send naughty and fun texts to my close pals only. I don’t share with people who don’t believe in it and are conservative about it.”
And there are some girls who indulge in sexting to drive their partners crazy. Rupali Rao (name changed), a young photographer says, “The survey could be partially right. I like to exchange naughty SMSes with my boyfriend. But I indulge in sexting only if he’s out of town. However, sexting with casual friends seems rather desperate and one should avoid it. It certainly is fun because it keeps the romance alive among the partners. I often flirt with my boyfriend when he is in the middle of his board meeting I’m sure it makes him smile.”
Shweta (name changed), a media professional feels the other way. “I don’t think we can differentiate on the basis of gender. I think that sexting is a harmless way of having fun with messages and it’s normal not something to be shocked about. Rather I feel that guys initiate sexting and girls follow. How can one generalise if which gender indulges in it more often. It is definitely mutual.”

I want to begin with a little story that was told to me by a leading executive at Aptech. He was exercising in a gym with a lot of younger people.

Shekhar Kapur’s Bandit Queen didn’t make the cut. Neither did Shaji Karun’s Piravi, which bagged 31 international awards.
