Glam duo enjoys parenthood
Together they make a picture perfect couple. He is tall, dark and handsome ace tennis player and she is a svelte, Bollywood diva and ex-Miss Universe. Arm in arm as they entered, many heads turned to welcome Mahesh Bhupathi and new mommy, Lara Dutta. They were in the city to launch the Samsung Galaxy S4 and hand over the phone to the first 50 customers.
“Motherhood is treating me quite well. As all mothers here would agree, it is also quite challenging. Everyday is a new adventure and I am in love with it. My daughter is a happy and a very sorted kid. We are blessed to have her,” says Lara talking about her daughter, Saira. She added, “Most of our free time is spent taking her pictures.”
Mahesh Bhupathi often tweets about the ongoing IPL and has been following its various seasons closely. On being asked about his favourite team this year, he replies, “I don’t really have favourite teams. But I am following Kolkata Knight Riders closely. Although, they are struggling this season but hopefully, a few wins like the last one would balance that.”
Talking about her future projects, Lara informs, “I am currently looking forward to two projects and one of them would go on floors this August. We are also contemplating a sequel to Chalo Dilli, but I can’t say much about that.”
On being asked about the sequel of No Entry, that has been in news for quite sometime, she quips, “Even I have only ‘heard’ about it. But I am eagerly waiting for it.”
In a black and green dress, the actress flaunted her perfect figure, having lost most of her preggy flab. Mahesh looked dapper in a black suit. The good-looking couple posed happily for the shutterbugs. On being asked what Lara liked about her hubby dearest, she confessed, “He is reliable, self-made and immensely caring. Frankly, it wasn’t really tennis that got me hooked. I am not a big fan of the sport.”
Does hubby Mahesh enjoy watching Bollywood cinema? “I better say yes! No, but seriously I love watching all kinds of cinema, including Bollywood,” he replies. So would he love to venture onscreen as well and face the camera? “Naah, he is not that camera friendly. Maybe, he can try the role of playback singer,” responds Lara on his behalf.
On the professional front, Mahesh has signed up Andy Murray for his international sport and entertainment venture, XIX Globosport, a joint venture with renowned British entrepreneur and television producer Simon Fuller. Does he have any plans to bring him to India? “Well, he is really busy. But if the right opportunity arises, then why not,” he smiles.
