‘Groom’ed to perfection
With the onset of the wedding season, as the brides get set to spruce themselves, the grooms aren’t far behind. Either with their fiancé or on their own, these young grooms-to-be are getting beauty conscious and are going the whole hog with exotic Indian therapies replete with scrubs, massages, wraps, yoga and meditation, facials, manicure, pedicure, threading, waxing and hair dressing.
These men are even taking customised rituals ranging from 15 days to 60 days.
Loretta Dique, spa manager at The Spa, Park Plaza, Bengaluru shares inputs on how men these days are finding out the secret to looking their best.
Nowadays, a pleasantly surprising number of men are shedding all inhibitions and openly soliciting tips on improving their looks. With the onset of the wedding season, most brides and bridegrooms are making a beeline to look their ravishing best. While a lot is common between a women’s and men’s beauty regimen, owing to the difference in the texture and overall quality of their skin and hair, the products used for each of their regime will differ.
Wedding wow!
Men can follow the cleansing, toning and moisturising routine. You can also exfoliate at least twice a week to keep those dead cells at bay. Since it’s your D-day, don’t settle for any quickies. Rather spend some extra time and enroll yourself for a professional beauty course. Undergo an intensive cleansing schedule, for a thorough skin cleansing, exfoliation and toning and continue to do it regularly. Follow it up with moisturising and cosmetic dermabrasion. These days a lot of men are also going in for brighterning facials, vitamin concentrate, propolish concentrate, bleaching sessions, deep conditioning and other beauty treatments for removal of scars and lightening hyper pigmented blotches.
Polished and how
If you are in the mood to indulge further, take therapeutic bath sessions where you can pick from options of mud bath, cocoa bath, rose bath or herbal bath in addition to the conventional beauty treatments. You can even relax with a deep tissue Swedish massage or try a basic manicure and pedicure to take care of the dryness and tanning of your hands and feet, and make them soft and supple. Trim the nails on your fingers and toes. Wear a sunscreen when venturing outdoors. Do not try any new hair or face products before your wedding. Also, do not get a haircut within the month leading to your wedding.
