Guitar virtuoso ready to rock
Utter the name of Guns N’ Roses in metal circles, and without doubt, every punter will share his five cents. Chinese Democracy has its champions as well as critics, and the same can be said for the band’s new line-up. We recently caught up with one of the lead guitarists of the band, Ron ‘Bumblefoot’ Thal, who shared his excitement about his India tour and about his experience of sharing the stage with Axl Rose, the lead vocalist and the only remaining original member of the band.
In an exclusive interview with The Asian Age, Ron said, “This will be my first trip to India, and I know it will be special, both musically and spiritually.”
Praising his fans and promising a power-packed performance in India, the guitarist said, “I look forward to finally seeing all the fans in India face-to-face! I know there will be a lot of energy coming from the fans, and they will get a lot from us, it’s going to be intense!”
Talking about his experience of sharing the stage with Axl Rose, Ron said, “After hundreds of shows over the years I’m still amazed how Axl can run around the stage singing at the top of his lungs for hours, the dude is a powerhouse. Maybe he is a cyborg (acronym for cybernetic organism — a being with both biological and artificial parts).”
The excitement of the band is definitely palpable. Ron, who is ready to rock the Indian stage, said, “I love spicy food; the hotter the better. I am looking forward to meeting fans and making new friends in India.”
