Heart of real India beats for cricket

The Incredible India campaign by the government plans to promote ‘the real India and its youth’ through five short films by Bollywood director, Anurag Kashyap. Hidden Cricket by filmmaker Shlok Sharma is a part of the repertoire.
Talking about this exciting project Shlok says that when he was asked to make a film to represent ‘the real India and its youth’, cricket was the first thing that came to his mind.
“Nothing else can describe the passion and dedication with which Indian youth love this sport. The best thing is that it can be played anywhere,” says Shlok. The film, that is slightly over three minutes in duration, has been shot in Patiala. Talking about his eight-year long journey as a short filmmaker, Shlok says that he is pleased to be a part of Anurag Kashyap’s team and has learnt a great deal from him. “Unlike others he is not insecure and always pushes one to deliver the best,” he says.
Shlok was associate director of Bombay Talkies and worked as assistant director for films like Omkara, Dev D, No Smoking. He is currently busy with his first feature film Haramkhor starring Nawazuddin Siddiqui. “It is too early to talk about it. Though my first feature film is almost ready I would continue with short films,” wraps up Shlok.
