‘I’d rather keep myself happy’
It can’t get better than this for the multi-talented Farhan Akhtar. Farhan, who has been a director, actor, writer, singer and a producer, is on a high these days.
Especially, after having won various awards for his last film Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, he has set a benchmark of sorts in different departments of filmmaking. His next, Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, which is a biopic based on athlete Milkha Singh, is nearing completion. After that he’s looking forward to Shaadi Ke Side Effects with none other than Vidya Balan.
When we ask Farhan about working with an actress like Vidya, who is hailed to be the “hero” in the industry, he laughs, “That’s so unfair,” and quickly adds, “Vidya is a great girl. She adds value and glamour to every project she does. I’m happy that we’re getting together for a film and I’m sure it will be worth a dekho.”
Having acted in Karthik Calling Karthik, ZNMD, BMB and now SKSE, is Farhan moving into the acting territory? “Not at all,” he denies adding, “Just because I’m acting in a few films doesn’t mean that I’ll ditch my first love,” he says.
On the personal front, Farhan admires and respects his stepmother Shabana Azmi, who is travelling with him to Iifa. “She is a great actress. Also she is family, so I have great love and respect for her,” he says. Like most other people, he too loves hanging out with his family and friends. The filmmaker insists that he consciously stays away from the controversies. “I’d rather keep myself happy and positive.”
