‘I’ve learnt a lot from Amitji’
One of the most versatile actors of Bollywood, Manoj Bajpayee says that he has learnt a lot from Amitabh Bachchan. “I’ve worked with Amitabh Bachchan in Aks, Aarakshan and now in Saytagraha. We share a cordial relationship. I learnt discipline and how to behave in public from him,” adds Manoj.
When asked whether he is open to working in television, he says that he keeps his options open, be it TV or theatre. “I could do a fiction based show or might host a show with a good concept on TV. I am currently working on two theatrical scripts and will soon start the plays.”
Talking about his two-year-old daughter, he says, “I try to spend quality time with her. I do a lot for her though I cannot compete with her mother! Earlier, I used to change her nappies and feed her at night... I never shout or get angry with her. At times I do lose my temper, but I have learnt to control myself.”
The proud father continues, “Whenever she watches me on the television she instantly starts shouting ‘papa… papa’.”
Manoj revels that he loves Hyderabadi food. He says, “I think Hyderabadi food is the best compared to other Indian states. While Hyderabad food has a Persian influence, Andhra food has an authentic taste. And every few miles the taste of the food changes according to the people living there.”
