IFTTT recipes come out for iOS
We’ve covered the popular automation service, IFTTT (short for ‘if this then that’) before. It’s a really nifty way to get some of your useful stuff done auto-magically, like say, get a text message on your phone when you get an important email from your boss, or sync your notes folder automatically with your Evernote and Dropbox clients.
It works with many popular services like Gmail, which is why we highly recommended it. It was only for the PC, however. Now, though, the folks have released an iOS app for it.
The IFTTT iOS app lets you do some really cool stuff. Not only can you create all your favourite web recipes on the device, exactly like you would online, but there are some specific iPhone-friendly recipe tricks. For example, you can grab direct access of your iOS photos, notes, reminders, music, and even Siri. You can even browse recipes by others and include them in your repertoire. Imagine uploading your photos not only to Dropbox, but also to Google Drive, SkyDrive, and Box. You can save just your screenshots over at Flickr, upload them to Facebook or Twitter, or even to Evernote. Imagine using the power of apps like Wunderlist for your to-do needs and having them saved over as reminders so that Siri can keep you on track. You can also backup your contacts in a Google spreadsheet, which saves a ton of work and keeps a comprehensive list of all your contacts synced over the Cloud.
