Igenius scholarships

Max New York Life Insurance has declared its first Igenius scholarships. Delhi girl, Shruti Bhardwaj has picked the highest prize of `20 lakh in the junior category (Class III to IV). The senior category (Class VI to VIII) saw a tie, where Siddharth Yadav from Bulandsheher and Nityashree Ramakrishna from Bengaluru, shared the prize money of `20 lakh. Hyderabad students, Mukul Mehta (a Class IV student of P. Obul Reddy Public School) and Harsha Vettem (a Class VIII from Chirec Public School) bagged scholarships of `1 lakh each.
The scholarship programme rewards children who are brilliant in both academics and extra-curricular activities. Over 10 lakh children from 500 cities were enrolled in the scholarship programme and evaluation was done through a four-stage process spread over 10 months.
