Isha hopes to bounce back soon

Right-handed dancer Isha Sharvani is currently making the most of performing daily chores with her left hand. Much has been written about the danseuse’s accident while practising for Jhalak Dikhla Jaa and Isha, who is brushing her teeth and eating with her other hand, is quite miffed with the media. Back home after a brief stint in the hospital, Isha says, “I have a plaster on the right hand and I find it strange that the media is only asking me if it’s been removed barely a few days after the accident. Plasters generally take three to four weeks to be removed.”

Excruciating pain coupled with fever sucked the energy out of her but Isha had only one big concern — her career.
“Though I was worried that the immediate repercussion of my injury would be my exit from Jhalak Dikhla Jaa, I was quite stressed that it could put brakes on my career as well. That said, I’m relieved that there’s been no nerve damage. I will be meeting my doctor soon with my MRI reports and he will let me know the future course of action.”
Isha says the channel has been supportive through her injury and hopes to return as soon as possible. The shooting for the finale will take place on September 24 and 25, and will be aired on September 29 and 30.
Can Isha make a comeback? The thought is surely bothering her but she’s taking it in her stride.
A dejected Isha adds, “When I was taken to the OPD in the hospital, so many patients who had come there for their own problems came up to me and praised me for my performances. I have worked in a couple of films before but the adulation I have got through Jhalak Dikhla Jaa has touched my heart.”

I want to begin with a little story that was told to me by a leading executive at Aptech. He was exercising in a gym with a lot of younger people.

Shekhar Kapur’s Bandit Queen didn’t make the cut. Neither did Shaji Karun’s Piravi, which bagged 31 international awards.
