It’s ‘lager’ than life
If you’re a beer snob (an antithesis there?) then the present must seem like a great time to be in the country indeed. A few days after SABMiller India launched Indus Pride, the first beer brewed with authentic Indian spices, at least two new beers are hoping to whip up some foam.
First up, Anheuser-Busch InBev have announced the launch of Budweiser Magnum, which will be available exclusively in India. “Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru and Hyderabad account for 25 per cent of the beer drinkers in India so that’s where we’re rolling out Budweiser Magnum,” said Kapil Agarwal, CEO, AB InBev India.
Also here is Clausthaler Beer, the world’s leading non-alcoholic beer. A representative for Dalmia Continental (which is importing Clausthaler) said the lager is perfect for “fitness enthusiasts, pregnant women and people who do not drink for religious or medical reasons”.
