Jassi’s musical tribute to love
Keeping pace with the changing times, Delhi-based young musician Aditya Jassi recently released his solo album 7 and the video of Tu Kaun Hai from the album was recently premiered on MTV.
The Hindi old school, rock’n’roll album is based on a musical journey of a young lover. Each of the seven songs depicts a stage in a lover’s life. “For a songwriter every word is a moment of personal experience. I like writing lyrics that are relatable to youngsters. All the things I have written about have happened to me at some point of time and are really close to my heart,” says Jassi.
Having sung for films like Strangers, Dil Kabaddi and Jugaad, Aditya has been making music ever since he picked up his guitar at the age of 15 and is hopeful of adding more Bollywood projects to his kitty.
A licensed pilot and a former Delhi University student, Jassi, now a playback singer, is well-versed with the finer nuances of guitar, harmonica, bass, mandolin and others. “During my college days, I was always associated with college bands and used to perform during fests, which has made me more confident as a singer.”
With the dream of getting a Grammy award in the next eight to nine years, he wishes to perform for a huge crowd. “I want to perform for 70,000 people, and I also dream of working with A.R. Rahman,” he says.
