Kicks and blows fill John’s year
John Abraham seems to be on an action high. After dabbling with comedies and light-hearted films such as Desi Boyz and Housefull, he is back to doing what he does best — pack a punch. Somewhere in between, he went ahead and took on the mantle of a producer and struck gold with Vicky Donor. But you can’t keep the brawny man away from the camera for too long.
The year 2013 promises to be action-packed for Johnny. The year will kickstart with Race 2, the action sequences of which have become the talk of town. A source says, “In Race, Saif’s adversary was Akshaye Khanna and the battle between the duo was mainly centred on mind games. In the sequel, it is different with brawn holding more prominence. While John is getting action heavy in the film, he would also be getting into hand-to-hand combat with international heavy weight fighters.” And for that, the actor has even received training from international fight masters.
Even Shootout at Wadala is being touted as his most intense film till date. “Even for that film, John has shot many action sequences. Moreover since the film is set in the 70s, the action is more basic, played out in kicks and blows instead of cable driven stunts with VFX,” says a source. A few days ago there was also a rumour about some Hollywood action production signing him on. Although John has rubbished the rumours, it doesn’t seem so impossible.
