Kids just wanna have fun
Who doesn’t know that Children’s Day is celebrated on November 14th every year? The same question applies when you ask about the reason behind its celebration – in the memory of the country’s first Prime Minister, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, as a tribute to his love for children, of course!
But how many know that six days later comes Universal Children’s Day? By a resolution taken on 14 December 1954, the General Assembly of the United Nations recommended that all countries institute a Universal Children’s Day on November 20, and observe activities devoted to children’s welfare. Now, while both days are often celebrated with the hosting of Children’s Day films (from the Harry Potter Series to Kung Fu Panda) and a day of fun at school, this fresh new generation isn’t quite that satisfied anymore.
