A knotty affair
There is nothing that can add some much needed pizzazz to an outfit, than a scarf. Tied the right way, it can be the perfect accessory to provide both warmth and style to your winter wear. Celebrities, needless to say, have embraced the scarf as an integral part of their outfit – be it the unbeatable style icon Amitabh Bachchan who is almost always sporting a scarf under that perfectly pressed suit or Shahrukh Khan casually draping the scarf across his shoulders. Here are three ways to sport the scarf:
Parisian knot: This is the easiest and most popular knot. Take the scarf and fold it lengthwise. Drape it around the neck and fold in the loose ends through the loop hanging in front of you and pull them through. Feel free to play with the tightness of the knot. Pair with a short leather jacket worn open or buttoned.
Once-around knot: This is a basic and simple knot – which is best worn during a quick commute to work or an evening out with a fitted blazer. To make this knot, drape the scarf once around your neck, allowing one end to be longer than the other. Take the long end and bring it around your neck, letting it fall over your chest. Casual and simple, this style works for all.
The drape: This ideally involves no knot at all. Similar to draping a dupatta, the scarf is simply worn around the neck, with the loose ends hanging in front. Can be worn inside or outside the shirt, depending on one’s preference.
