Komolika is back as a psychiatrist
Komolika is back and how. And it’s not surprising to know that Urvashi Dholakia who would be essaying the role of Komolika, a name that made her a household personality. Before you start speculating about the return of the scheming vamp, this Komolika is completely different from the previous avatars.
After a long hiatus, Urvashi is back on the small screen in Saubhagyavati Bhava, where she essays the role of a psychiatrist. She seems quite excited about the new avatar and thinks the audience would accept her in any kind of role. “I play a mature and sophisticated psychiatrist. It’s a completely different role, something that I would’ve never attempted before,” she says adding that psychology is something that intrigued her since college days. “I was going to major in psychology since it’s always fascinating reading people’s minds.”
After having played a vamp for so many years, Urvashi says that taking up a positive role was not a conscious choice. “I agreed because it was an interesting character and I’ve always believed in working with new people,” says Urvashi. She adds that 2012 is going to be a year of growth and more success, as it will mark 28 years for her in the industry. “The industry is like family to me. I don’t think I could have been anything else apart from an actor,” she says.
