For a lasting manicure
While we all love a neat manicure, there are always some ways we go wrong thereby short-changing its longevity. Here are a few steps that will ensure that manicure lasts long.
nSwipe the nails clean with a cotton ball soaked in nail polish remover even if your nails are not painted. It will help the new coat of nail paint stick on longer.
nIt’s always advisable to have two coats of nail polish. While choosing a base coat, ensure it’s soft in texture so that it can bind the top coat better. A top coat should ideally be shiny and hard. For best results, apply two base coats as that helps hold the top coat better and prevents it from chipping.
nPolishes that have a shimmery finish stay on for the longest periods of time. Pearlescent formulas, with fine mica particles are less prone to wear and tear as compared to matt finish.
nIf you want your nail paint to last long, then avoid quick dry polishes. They are convenient but don’t last long.
nEnsure that you oil your nails regularly because it protects the nail paint from peeling. It’s good to oil them right before you go to bed so that your nail retains the nutrients.
