Laughter riot at LOL evenings

The rise in petrol price may be a huge dampener for everybody, but it doesn’t mean that you can’t enjoy a few jokes on the hike and many other day-to-day things. Drop in at Tryst Cafe, Saket this Friday to enjoy an evening of laughter titled LOL Evenings.
Comedy artists such as Ashwin Mushran, Anu Menon, Kavi Shastri, Rohan Joshi and Tanmay
Bhat will perform Cardinal Bengans, the improvised comedy to enthrall the audience. Vir Das and his company, Weirdass Comedy is the brain behind the LOL Evenings.
LOL Evenings are held across five Indian cities including Mumbai, New Delhi, Pune, Bengaluru and Gurgaon. And the show is a unique mix of headliners, daily news, sketch comedy and Cardinal Bengans, an improvised comedy skit, Alien Chutney — comedy rock and a grand finale by Vir Das with his own brand of humour.
Says Rohan, “The Headliners category deals with politicians and newsmakers. And the current behaviour of some of the politicians is helping us to come up with new concepts every day.”
This Friday, LOL evening will feature Cardinal Bengans which is an interactive session with the audience. “For this section we will take suggestions from the audiences and perform on the spot,” explains Rohan.
Also adds Das, “I am extremely happy to be a part of such an initiative which has boosted the abundant stand-up talent in our country. I had great fun performing at the debut of LOL Evenings with my team at Weirdass and cannot wait to get onto the stage once again.”

I want to begin with a little story that was told to me by a leading executive at Aptech. He was exercising in a gym with a lot of younger people.

Shekhar Kapur’s Bandit Queen didn’t make the cut. Neither did Shaji Karun’s Piravi, which bagged 31 international awards.
