Leading men turn baddies
You’ve seen them dance around trees, romance their co-stars on the Alps and groove to item numbers. But this year, you will see them in a ‘grey’ avatar. Numerous Bollywood biggies are playing negative roles and characters with grey shades this year. Aamir Khan playing the role of the villain in Dhoom 3 has been the talk of B-town. Shah Rukh Khan will be seen reprising his baddie role in the Don sequel this year. Also going the ‘grey’ way is Priyanka Chopra whose character in 7 Khoon Maaf, supposedly has negative shades to it. Apparently, talks are on with Salman Khan, who might play the villain in Mr India 2.
Talking about the numerous Bollywood stars’ entry into the negative territory this year, actor Tilak says, “A negative role is the best thing that an actor can be offered. There’s so much scope when the character is grey. A good guy has certain limitations.”
Tilak, who entered Sandalwood as a baddie in his first film, says, “I enjoyed doing playing a negative character. It’s so much more challenging and exciting than a positive role. When you’re playing a negative role, your mind needs to be clear of positivity. It’s good to be bad.” Being a hardcore Salman Khan fan, Tilak would love to see Sallu bhai in a negative role soon.
