Let my work speak: Hooda
Randeep Hooda is the quintessential Bollywood hero. But despite having been here for more than seven years, he still makes news for his off-screen dalliances rather than his on-screen performances. Some-thing that he is trying desperately to change, he admits.
“There was a time when everybody was talking about my relationship (with Sushmita Sen) but my films weren’t doing well. So I have decided to let my work do the talking,” he says.
He has since broken up with the former beauty queen, and has moved on to Neetu Chandra, and things are apparently so serious that they are rumoured to be contemplating marriage. “I’m not getting married,” he cuts it short, irked at all the rumours. “There is more to me than my relationships.”
But back-to-back successes of Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster and Jannat 2 means things are finally looking up for him. All of which have helped him bag the big budget Bhatts’ film Jism 2, where he’ll be working opposite Sunny Leone.
Did the thought of working with Sunny overwhelm him though? “Never,” pat comes the reply. “Sunny is popular for the work she has done in the past and I have my repertoire. There is no comparison and no fears whatsoever.”
Along with Sunny, there are also comparisons with Bolly-wood’s resident sex symbol, and the star of the original Jism, John Abraham. “I don’t think it’s fair to compare two actors who are in two different leagues,” he says, candidly. “Besides, doing lovemaking or passionate scenes don’t make you a sex symbol, nor am I looking at that image.”
