Little Master in no mood to hang his boots
A lot has been discussed about his retirement. But the God of Cricket as he is fondly known as, doesn’t want to drop any hint. Sachin Tendulkar is in no mood to tell the world when he would wish to retire from cricket.
At a recent launch function of an e-newspaper in the capital when he was asked if the constant probing from the media about his retirement bothers him, he cheekily remarked, “The questions about my retirement started long ago, I guess in 2005. What can I do about it? Aapka kaam hai sawaal poochhna aur mera kaam hai cricket khelna.”
The 24/7 media glare or constant opinion by people from all quarters too doesn’t bother the cricketer much. He said, “Everyone has an opinion. But you cannot listen to everybody. You will do what you feel is right.”
But what about his own seniors and colleagues criticising him or analysing his performance on the field? “They don’t always write negative things. It’s a package deal. Everyone can’t praise you all the time,” he said.
When asked if media reports put pressure on him, he jokingly shot back, “So you know that you are putting pressure, still you do it.”
However, talking about the advancement of technology, Sachin felt it is very important for all youngsters to be tech-savvy.
“Technology opens the door to many interesting opportunities. The students should start getting lessons in technology from the time they are in school,” he says.
