Mandy likes being fake
Sapna Bhavnani is doing more than just snipping off tresses these days. The celebrity hair stylist along with designer Sukriti Grover is trying her hand at fashion, again. Called SoFake, their fashion line in association with Peta (People for Ethical Treatment of Animals) promotes the use of faux leather.
And the line’s first muse to convey the message “Sometimes it’s so cool to be so fake” is none other than Indian cricket’s first lady, Mandira Bedi.
The ad shows the petite TV host sporting a flashy spiked faux leather jacket. “Sapna has shown us through her designs that it’s cool to be fake,” she says, adding, “Through her clothes she has shown that you can have looks that can kill without actually killing anybody,” This isn’t the first time that Peta and Sapna’s paths have crossed. She recently posed for an eye-opening anti-dissection ad next to the caption “Cut Class, Not Frogs”.
Known for its unique structured shapes and striking black, white and grey tones, SoFake will soon be on display at Lakmé Fashion Week, 3-7 August.
